Strategy for covering two floors in a home

I have installed v2 of the ring alarm system at my home using all the components in the set on the main floor. But we also have a large den downstairs with egress windows. I would like to put a motion sensor there. Would I also need to install a second extender there? Just trying to figure out the best strategy.Steve
