Smoke Listener Change batteries on detectors

Question

I want to change the batteries on my new smoke detectors. But don’t want the smoke listener too go off during changing. How do I disable the listener temporarily

Hi @Heatonk! Before changing the batteries in your smoke and CO detectors, first remove the Listener battery to power it down, then change all batteries, and then replace the Listener battery to avoid triggering a false alarm. In addition, you can go into Settings \ Monitoring \ and then click on Professional. Swap yourself over to self monitoring while you change the batteries, so that if it does set off your alarm, you don't have to worry about our Central Monitoring Station calling you. Once everything is back up and running like it should be, go ahead and swap back over to professional, and you'll be good to go!
