Questions about Ring Alarm System
Hi. I would like to buy 5-piece kit Ring Alarm System, but before use I need to know couple things. 1. How sensitive is the motion sensor? I have a cat and I am curious if the alarm will be armed, cat can trigger the alarm? 2. If I do not arm the alarm and leave the apartment, will I receive a notification from Door sensor if someone will enter to the apartment? 3. Is it possible to volume down the siren due to the presence of the cat in apartment? 4. I am going to add the ring Stick Up Cam to this system in battery mode. How it will work? It will start record the video only when someone try to open the Door and trigger the alarm? Thank to all for reply and help.

Hi @user_788a3d. I'm happy to answer each of these questions, and I'll number them to correspond to your questions to make it easier. 1. The Motion Detectors use passive infrared (PIR) motion detection, so pets can trigger the motion detection. Installing the Motion Detector at the appropriate height, and adjusting the sensitivity can help reduce the likelihood of a false alarm due to pets. 2. Yes, you can choose to receive push notifications when a Contact Sensor is opened and closed. This can be toggled off for each Contact Sensor at any time in the Ring app. 3. No, the volume of the Ring Alarm siren cannot be adjusted. 4. The Ring Alarm and the Stick Up Cam can operate independently of each other. That is to say, the Stick Up Cam cannot trigger the Ring Alarm siren. You do have the option to link the two devices together, and set the Stick Up Cam to begin recording when the Ring Alarm is triggered. I hope this information helps address all your concerns. If you have any other questions, feel free to let me know!
