  Hi @K.sey. The Ring Alarm Motion Detector is designed to monitor a room or area inside your home for heat and movement, and isn't designed to be used outside. You can find more information on the use and setup of the Ring Alarm Motion Detector in our Help Center Article [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039498552-Ring-Alarm-Motion-Detector-Setup-and-Use), which should help you determine where you'd want to place the sensor and if it will cover the area you're looking to secure.   @K.sey Right, that is the [Smart Lighting Motion Sensor](https://ring.com/products/smart-lighting-motion-sensor). It is not a part of the Ring Alarm system and requires the [Ring Smart Lighting Bridge](https://ring.com/products/smart-lighting-bridge). This device will not trigger the Ring Alarm as it is not part of the alarm system like the Contact Sensors or Motion Detectors are. Let me know if you have any other questions.
