new billing hard to understand

I was on a Ring generation 1 plan. That changed to Ring Protect Plus last year. My plan just renewed for $99.99 for Ring Standard plan; then another charge of $99.99 for Ring Premium plan. When I called customer service, they said the first payment was for my my old plan and the premium payment was for professional monitoring. Why can't they just say professional monitoring instead of premium?
