How to take ownership of Base Station?

I recently moved into a new house and it came with a base station. Unfortunately, when I tried to register it on the ring app it indicated that it was under the previous owner. I may not be able to get a hold of the last owner. How can I take ownership of the base station without contacting the previous owner to disown the device?
