False alarms in home mode?? Can motion detectors fail and trigger alarm when there is no motion??
app-settings
troubleshooting
cs-support

I had installed ring motion detectors in my home few weeks back. As i nornally do, prior going to sleep, I had enabled protection to HOME mode. Around midnight, the alarm went off putting us in to state of shock. Upon checking in the app, it displays alarm triggered due to motion detection by one of the hallway sensor. After inspecting the home, there is no sign of entry or chances for motion detection. Contact sensor confirm there is no sign of entry.  Alarm History shows the below sequence  1) Motion detected by Hallways sensor@ 1.48 AM 2) Entry delayed caused by Hallway sensor  3) Motion detection stopped @ 1.48 AM 4) Alarm triggered. Has anyone come across this type of incident?? I'm really concerned and have my doubts with ring systems security.

Hi @user_575dc2. Do you have any vents or heaters in your hallway? If so, this may be the cause of the false alarm. The Motion Detectors detect motion using a passive infrared system. This means they detect changes in temperate as motion. If a vent is blowing hot or cold air, this may be the issue.
