Door sensor tripping when door is closed!

My front door sensor trips randomly. It doesnt happen everytime. Worked perfct for a month but now i cant trust it. Nothing has been moved. When I arm the system the alarm will go off saying the front door has been opened. The front door hasnt moved though. Im not sure what to do. It doesnt do it everytime but often enough I no longer feel I can arm the ystem when I leave or when im home. Batteries are good. The space inbetween the sensor is under an inch and worked fine for the first month. Anyone else experince this? Any tips would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Hello @TCharais , Sorry to hear that your front door Contact Sensor is not functioning as it should. Typically these are extremely reliable. It sounds like you have mounted it correctly with less than the maximum gap of 1-inch spacing between the magnet and the sensor (1.0" for 2nd Gen contact sensors, 0.5" for 1st Gen contact sensors). Normally front doors are clad with a metal steel skin and the steel itself can slightly diminish the magnetic strength of the magnet. If your gap between the magnet and sensor is very close to the max spacing, if possible, remounting to decrease the gap will improve the magnetic field strength, resulting in better functioning. It should be slid onto its mounting plate so that it 'clicks' fully in place securely. Sometimes, the sensor can become dislodged on the mounting plate **ever so slightly**. There is a Tamper-lever switch on the sensor that is depressed by a plastic tab on the mounting plate. If this tamper-lever is not fully and completely depressed in the correct position (when the sensor is not fully 'clicked' on the mount plate), then this can then cause intermittent operations, while still not displaying that it is "tampered" with. When correctly fully-seated, the edge of the mounting plate and the sensor's edge should be flush and match perfectly. So, I would inspect the edge, and then just for good measure, slide the sensor off the mounting plate and then back on.
