Dome Siren Question

Hello all, I just recently installed a ring alarm system in my house and detached garage. The base station is in my living room and the keypad is beside my side door (not terribly far apart, maybe 20-25 feet). What I’ve noticed is, when I walk into the house and the alarm starts counting down for me to disarm it, it’s not very loud. My fear is that my mother or grandparents who are hard of hearing may come in and set the alarm off because they didn’t hear the countdown. I almost missed it myself the other day bringing in groceries because the bags were making noise. My question is, does the dome siren only make noise when the alarm is triggered and past the countdown or does the dome siren also notify you that you need to disarm the alarm soon?

Hi @Buckshot5792. The Dome Siren will only play a siren after the alarm is triggered. It will not play the countdown noise or any other alert tones. You do have the option to increase the volume on the Keypad and the Base Station in the Ring App by going to Devices > Alarm Base Station > Audio Settings. This can be done for the Keypad as well. I hope this information helps! :)

@Caitlyn_Ring Hi Caitlyn, I did increase the volume on both devices. Do you know if the Chime or Chime Pro will make the audible countdown or if there is a way to make Alexa speak the countdown?

@Buckshot5792 The Chime and Chime Pro do not play the countdown or alerts from the Ring Alarm system, and there isn't a way to make Alexa play the countdown either. My recommendation is to add another keypad where you need to hear alarm commands.
