Trouble adding Schlage Encode to Ring

This has been quite an issue so far. I am in Canada and have installed a Schlage Encode. Schlage software has been installed and works just fine. I tried to download the Key app but it is not available in Canada for some reason but I managed to find the current apk file and installed it that way. I can operate the lock through the Key app just fine. Now I am trying to add the lock to my Ring system but neither the lock or Amazon Key shows up in the add devices menu in the Ring app. Does anyone have any ideas of how to get this set up? Seems quite complicated for something that should be plug and play.
