Ability to Change Motion Detection and Sensitivity within different zones on the same camera

I would love the ability to customize the different zones on the same camera. For instance, high sensitivity, person detection, and alerts in zone 1 and less sensitivity, recording only, no alerts, on zone 2. This should be available, so I can be notified in someone is up closer to my house, but not every dog that walks down the street. Would love for Ring to provide this.

I agree. After a decade with Ring and adding more and more of their cameras and security to my setup, I feel that the zones are useless! I have played around with them over the years and found that nothing changes. 1) I have eliminated areas from a zone in order to get less motion from branches and the trampoline flap from blowing in the wind, but as far as I could tell, after examining this for weeks and weeks, it made no difference whether that area was removed from the zone or not. In other words I had an area that was totally not in any zone whatsoever and I was still getting motion from that area. “Your camera will not detect motion outside of these areas.” Not true! 2) if the zones did work properly and motion was not detected out of these areas, why not actually “make motion detection work for you” for real? Why not have separate zones be fully customizable? For example, let’s say I have my front yard camera. I have bushes that I do not want motion from, so I make a zone for those bushes and then I can set the settings for that zone separately from other zones - no motion at all. I do want to see if somebody enters my front yard though because of an incident I have had which is why I got that camera, so I set that zone to detect all motion because I also want to see the cats and dogs that poop in my yard, too, lol. The camera also catches the street, so I don’t want to see every car that passes by so I set a zone for less motion on the street, because I do want to see some motion that may be helpful in the future, such as a car being parked in front of my home and being abandoned because it was a stolen car. This is a true story. I would like to see zones actually work! This would be a very useful feature. and then to tailor the zones so that you can fine-tune what you want to be recorded and notified of in each zone.
