I've bought a Ring Video Doorbell Wired and despite my house being only 15 years old, the transformer for my current doorbell is only 6VA, 6V, 50HZ. The Ring doorbell requires 8-24VAC.I've bought a Ring Chime for the audio - I'll use this and the Amazon Echo devices I have around the house, I am happy to not use the current bell. Will I just need to replace my transformer? Is it just a case of turning off the power to it, taking out the current one and fitting a new one? Here is a [picture of my doorbell](https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ap6bIfBcKpuso5oyhx1f4LqOsYARgQ?e=ytl4dr). I've marked in green what I think is the transformer and in red what I think is the bell...Any recommendation as to which transformer I should get? Is this one okay? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Navaris-Door-Bell-Transformer-12V/dp/B07J2NWYC4/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=transformer+ring&qid=1624144124&sr=8-5

Hey neighbors. This thread contains some great discussion regarding different installation methods for the Video Doorbell Wired based on what transformer you may have or want. The original poster has also shared a video detailing their setup process and what transformer they used, which is linked [here](https://community.ring.com/t/which-transformer-for-ring-video-doorbell-wired-uk/62516/12) for ease of access. :) For reference, the Video Doorbell Wired requires a transformer that is rated 8-24 VAC, 10-40VA, 50/60Hz. Neighbors located in the UK can use the DIN Rail Transformer as a suitable transformer for the Video Doorbell Wired, which requires 18mm or 36mm module space in a suitable DIN Rail enclosure. If you don't feel comfortable handling the wiring for the transformer on your own, we recommend consulting a qualified electrician.

This topic has been useful to help me choose a new, compatible transformer after determining that the existing transformer used to power the old chime and doorbell didn't work with the Ring Video Doorbell wired. However, what I would like to understand from Ring Support is a couple of things: 1. W

Hi @Twizz1. The Video Doorbell 3 requires a standard doorbell system with 8-24VAC doorbell transformer if you plan to hardwire it. The transformer must be AC, as DC power is not compatible with the Doorbell 3. As for the chime kit in your home, check to see if the make and model you have is listed in [this](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360044683012-Ring-Video-Doorbell-3-Chime-Kit-Compatibility-List) Help Center article.
