Upgrading my account

If I upgrade my account will the current account I just repaid for in August go towards the new amount of the one I want to upgrade to?

    I had a door bell on the basic ring protect but purchased a cctv camera and so have the protect plus support which is a trial until December 17th but I have also purchased this as an upgrade so both my door bell and camera will have saved recorded video etc My question is that from December 17th I will have two protects ongoing , so should I cancel now the basic protect or should I cancel it after my protect plus is initiated December 17th Thanks
