Switching plans

I currently have the doorbell but I am also looking into getting the alarm system as well. I am paid up to Jan 2021. If I purchase the alarm system and need to upgrade my plan to the Plus plan. How will that work? Will I need to pay the full amount for the new plan? This is the last month of my contract with another company and I would like to switch sooner rather than later.

I just upgraded to the Plus plan after adding two spotlight cameras to my one doorbell account. I was only 4 months into my Basic annual plan and RING charged me the full price , $106. They have not credited my unused portion to my original plan, 8 months worth.

Hey neighbors! Per our help center article about changing plans, when upgrading from Basic to Plus, you will receive a prorated refund for any amount left on your Basic annual plan. The Plus plan will be charged immediately and you will begin a new billing cycle.
