Why is my Ring doorbell battery losing charge when I have the Solar charging base? Additionally, when I look at the battery life, there is no indication the solar panel is charging it. It was installed per instructions & just this week has shown low battery.
Hey @SheDouglas. When you look in Device Health, are you finding that it does not show the solar panel is connected? If this is the case, please try resetting your Doorbell by pressing and holding the setup button for 20 seconds, and then going into Device Health and tapping on Reconnect/Change Wifi Network. It will walk you through another set up of your device, and then after this setup, see if the solar panel is showing as connected. In the event it may still now, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available here. We’re taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19. This has resulted in longer than normal wait times. If you are outside of the US, please read our response to COVID-19 here to see how to contact support.
I recently ordered and installed the solar charger for my Ring doorbell. I fully charged my Ring before connecting it to the solar charger. It has run down twice. I only get about 2- 3 weeks even with the solar charger.
What is the deal? Could my doorbell battery or the solar charger be defective? If so what do I do,
It does show that the solar charger is connected.
Hey @Glock4me. Since your solar charger is not showing as connected, could you try the steps I have outlined for @SheDouglas to try above? If those do not work for you, it’s best to contact our support team to troubleshoot this concern further. Please let me know how this goes!
I just went through the whole setup again, and mine isn’t charging, or showing that there is a solar connected to it (Ring 1st gen)
