I installed solar on my ring doorbell. The app shows solar is connected BUT the instructions say that the battery icon should show a sun symbol on it weather it’s charging or not and a sun with a lighting bolt symbol when it it charging. Battery symbol just shows the battery life symbol.
How do I know if the solar is actually working?
Hi @user38494. What type of phone are you using and what version of the Ring app is installed? Also, what is the current battery level of your device? The Solar Panel may not “kick-in” until the battery falls below 90%. At that point, you should see a trickle charge on your device.

Hi @user39011. Have you tried resetting your doorbell and reconnecting it to WiFi? You can do this by pressing and holding the setup button for 20 seconds, then releasing it. You’ll need to reconnect to WiFi after this. Also, how many events is your doorbell activating for per day?
