This should be redesigned so as to work with wedge and corner plates in a way that supports mounting the solar charger first, then wedge/corner piece and finally doorbell. This makes for a much cleaner installation (like doorbell 2?). Ring support says current design required wedge/corner to be mounted first, then solar charger followed by doorbell. This. Results in an unattractive installation.
I think phone support gave me bad information.
just received the solar charger for Doorbell 3/3+ and it DOES have the mounting holes to supporting mounting the solar panel first, then wedge, then doorbell.
