Ok, I have a Ring 4 Pro with battery backup, instead of a second battery I opted to buy a second gen solar panel. But also have a Ring compatible wired in-house door chime. I want all of these components to be wired together. The hard wire from the house comes through the solar panel and wedge plates to the rear of the Ring Pro to the terminals but I didn’t connect them because an electrician said I could not have the wires from the solar panel coming into the same place and connect them together on the back of the Ring Pro 4. Is that true?
Hi @user40034.Yes, the electrician is correct that you cannot use both the Solar Panel and the wiring from your existing doorbell circuit. You can only connect one or the other to your Video Doorbell 4.
