Scam in form of automatic upgrade to protect plan

Is someone else being affected with this scam? . I have been on the basic plan for several months paying usd6 per month. Suddenly I received a usd100 charge. I looked into my account and I have been involuntarily upgraded to protect plus. I never asked for it. Now I have to deal with their terrible customer service to ask for the charge reversal. Unbelievable.
