Ring won't accept my payment for a plan

I used to have a monthly plan for my doorbell, but for some reason it lapsed, I guess because payment didn’t process (not sure why because my credit card information hasn’t changed since I first signed up). I’ve been trying to sign up again for a long time and it’s like Ring just doesn’t want my money.

I tried multiple times from the app and I keep getting a message about the payment not being able to be processed. It tells me to check my billing address, but my billing address is correct. I tried again on my computer and it still doesn’t work. I tried every card I have multiple times and I still get the same message about the billing address.

It’s been months since I’ve been able to have videos record on my doorbell because of this. Is anyone else having this issue? I’ve seen several posts over the last few months from people saying they’re having different problems with making payments to Ring. You would think the company would fix these issues because it’s costing them money.

Hi @mtdc10. Ring only accepts digital credit or debit card payments and any other payment methods offered through our website Ring.com. Please ensure you are using a payment method that is accepted for a plan, and you may want to be in contact with your bank to ensure you have the proper billing address on file. If you have ensured you have covered these, please give our support team a call to get the plan subscribed to! For this, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available here. We’re taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19. This has resulted in longer than normal wait times. I am in the same boat, except, I never had an account before… new to ring.
I called and was able to determine to find a customer service agent you have to act like you want to talk to sales.
FOUR CREDIT CARDS were rejected. Finally, it accepted ONE. (AFTER the system rejected the expiration month of “10” for not having two numbers?!?!?!)
For less then 24 hours, it accepted that payment. Now, that card is rejected too.
Look, I have been in the same home with the same account for 10 years.
I just want my money back at this point. I should not have to go thru this many attempts to get the service to work…
I am just going to have to file a complaint with my credit card for service not as described and seek a refund, because obviously, Ring cannot provide me with the services they claimed to be able to provide.
This is RIDICULOUS.

Same for me. Tried two cards, both definitely assigned to my home address. I talked with a lady after a half hour wait. She got me to go through the whole process of setting up a new account three times and each time the same message. I was told I’d get a call back, that never happened. Very frustrating. I’m now left with a product with one of the key features being unusable.

Decent products but as this company has grown it cares less and less a and support has become non existent. Ring kicks me out and makes me sign in over and over and over and over! Called got an foreign voice that hung up on me as soon as I asked the question s did not used to be this way. My daughter switched to vivint for same reason!

Sorry to hear about this experience, neighbors! It sounds like everyone is entering their payment information properly. Check out our help center article for information on accepted payment methods and types. Here is also our help center article on adding or editing payment information.

Well this is November 17 and it’s happening to me also. Very frustrating

It’s November 25th, right now. Seems like this thing is still going on. Trying to select a plan before my 24 days goes out for my Protect Plan. Why has no one already fixed that??? X(

I kept trying and it went through

Same problem here. My credit card has been rejected many many many times. Call customer service and after 2h they told me they can’t do anything to help me. Seriously? I just want to pay my 50$ protection plan. Is that so difficult to get right? They asked me to call a number to enter my credit card numbers. But then again, credit card was rejected. They asked me to create a new account with a different email address. Same problem. Too bad I didn’t order on Amazon, I would have return everything right away.

It’s so frustrating

Same for me - won’t accept my Visa Credit, Visa debit or Mastercard. It’s ridiculous. Been trying for weeks.

So F’ing frustrating.

Us: “Here take my money”
Ring: “No”
Ring Support: “You are [probably, I don’t actually know] doing it wrong”

tl;dr, Dec. 2020 still not working

It’s 21st December and this issue still hasn’t been resolved.
I’ve tried two different cards and both are failing. My Ring Protect plan has now expired and I am unable to purchase a plan.

This was so frustrating; a major flaw with the Ring product. I tried 3 different Visa cards about 10 times between them, always got the same message everyone else seems to be getting. Tried my MasterCard and it worked instantly. Let’s see if it holds and doesn’t get rejected like seems to be happening to other people.
