Ring wired doorbell has power won’t turn on

Hi I recently purchased ( a week or so ago) a wired ring doorbell and ring transformer. I have hooked them all together and checked that the doorbell is getting the correct voltage (23.8v dc) but it won’t turn on. There is no lights etc on the doorbell. I tried to reset the doorbell with the orange button on the slide but still nothing. Is my doorbell faulty or have I missed something?
