I have these two hardware devices and have each working in its respective app (Ring app for the doorbell and Level app for the Level Lock). I want to add the Level Lock to the Ring app so it can work in unison with my doorbell or see the locked/unlocked status of the door in Ring.
My situation isn’t covered as my Ring has a serial number starting with G9E.
When I try to add the Level Lock to Ring, the app runs me into setting up my doorbell again. I’m not sure what happens after that as I already have my doorbell set up and can’t do it again.
Hi @davemonski. As mentioned in the Help Center Article you shared, you do need to enable Amazon Sidewalk on your Doorbell Pro in order to access your Level Bolt and Level Touch functions inside the Ring App. If your Doorbell Pro isn’t compatible with Amazon Sidewalk, you wouldn’t be able to complete the steps in the Help Center Article to get this integration set up. If you have any further questions, feel free to give our support team a call at one of the numbers available here. If you are outside of the US, please visit here to see how to contact support.
When will Level Bolt integration with Ring/Sidewalk be expanded to more devices? I have the both the Doorbell Wired and Floodlight Cam Wired Plus right next to my front gate where the Level Bolt is installed but I still have to be standing near the gate in order to lock/unlock.
Hi @Mac_ring. I don’t have any information to share on when the Level Bolt integration with Ring and Amazon Sidewalk will be expanded to more devices. Feel free to add this suggestion to our Feature Request board. This will help us to organize and share your requests with our teams here, as well as allow other neighbors to comment and add interest, all in one place. Feel free to link that post you make in the Feature Request board here so other neighbors that come to this thread can easily find your feature!
So, the Ring Pro 2 is not compatible with Amazon Sidewalk, right? I’m checking as this isn’t said clearly in the tech article, but in following all the steps I have my Level account linked with Ring, but the lock doesn’t show up in the app on the last step. If this is the case, I will log a feature request for Ring Pro 2 Doorbell support for Amazon Sidewalk.
Hi @davemonski. Your Ring Video Doorbell Pro or Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 may be compatible with Sidewalk. You can check whether or not your device is compatible by looking at its serial number. If the serial number begins with “BHL3” or has “15N” it is Sidewalk compatible now. If it starts with “BHL1” or “BHL2”, it is not yet compatible with Amazon Sidewalk at this time.
Hi. I’m running into the same issues as the person who originally posted and started this thread. I have a ring video doorbell pro 2, with a serial number starting with G9E. It does support Amazon sidewalk, but I’m unable to get the level lock setup in the ring app. Please help! I can’t imagine the doorbell pro would be compatible but not the doorbell pro 2 which is newer?
Hi @7037184e96a32722a54d7e5c9ab1d4. The Level Lock is only compatible with specific Ring Pros and not the Ring Pro 2. If you’d like to see an integration with the Level Lock and the Ring Pro 2, I suggest adding this to our Feature Request board. Feel free to add this and any future feature requests there. This will help us to organize and share your requests with our teams here, as well as allow other neighbors to comment and add interest, all in one place. Feel free to link that post you make in the Feature Request board here so other neighbors that come to this thread can easily find your feature!
Hey neighbors! As Tom mentioned, the Level Lock is only compatible with specific Ring Pros and not the Ring Pro 2 at this time. With that said, other neighbors have expressed interest in expanding this integration to include the Ring Pro 2 and you can find the associated feature request below.
If you’re interested in this integration, please vote and add your feedback to the associated feature request, as this is the best way for our team to gather and share your ideas and suggestions with our team.
@Caitlyn_Ring What is disappointing is that I read on a blog back in June 2021 that Level said that more Ring devices would be compatible soon with a firmware update, but that never happened. And I recently spoke with a representative at Level, and they informed me that the Ring Video Doorbell Pro, 3rd Gen is the only device Amazon has given Level permission to access for Sidewalk use. So that tells me that this is an issue on the Amazon/Ring end, which is even more frustrating. I’ve had Sidewalk work intermittently with the two Level Bolts I installed – despite having no officially supported Amazon/Ring products in the house – so it’s obviously possible to add support for other Amazon Sidewalk devices so it works more reliably.
As someone who installed quite a lot of Amazon Echo and Ring products, this is extremely disappointing, and making me think twice about going the Amazon/Ring route.
When will the pro 2 connect to level bolt through Amazon sidewalk? I get conflicting answers on if it should already. If it should already, how do I get the app to install the lock?
Hi @Denpth. This Help Center article here has some great information on the Level Lock. This article has has information on how this integrates with Amazon Sidewalk. I hope this helps!
It’s now September 2022, and there is still no Sidewalk support for the Level Bolt outside of the Ring Doorbell Pro. Additional Sidewalk support was supposed to come quite a while ago. I spoke to Level, and they said they are waiting on Amazon/Ring to allow them to add support. So what is the holdup? It’s ridiculous it’s taking this long.
I’m so glad I badgered them until they paid me to take my ring pro 2 back for a crappier ring pro that works with level. That’s the whole reason I bought the ring pro.
Good news! I just decided to mess with it today and successfully paired my level lock to my ring pro 2! So they’ve finally fixed/updated it and it works great!
Hey neighbors, you can now utilize your Level Lock with the Video Doorbell Pro 2 and the Floodlight Cam Wired Plus through Amazon Sidewalk. For more information on how to use your Level Lock with the Ring app, check out this Help Center article. Thanks for your continued feedback!
