Hi, I bought the new ring doorbell wired. Easy to install and functional.
However it doens`t work with Alexa routines. I get the normal notification alert, but when I try to create simple routine activated by press button on Ring, the routine doesnt work.
Any idea why it doesnt work?
The ring skills is activated, its recognized by Alexa, notifications work.
The problem is just choose Ring as the trigger for the routine. Nothing happen.
Ideas?
Hi @Dabaco. Are you able to set up the routine and it doesn’t work, or are you unable to set up the routine at all? Let me know if you can follow the steps below to set up the routine.
- Open the Alexa app on your mobile device
- Tap More in the bottom right-hand corner.
- Select Routines from the menu.
- Tap the plus sign
to Create Routine
- A screen titled New Routine will appear.
- Tap on and Routine Name and name your routine.
- Tap on When This Happens and tap Smart Home, select your Ring device you are creating the routine for.
- Select which capability you’d like to set up.
- Select Add action , and then choose which action it completes.
- To receive a push notification when motion or contact sensor is triggered, select Send notification.
- Under From , select which Alexa device controls the Routine.
- Tap Create.
If you don’t see any of these options when setting up a routine in the Alexa App, please share a screenshot of what you do see on your end. That way I have a better idea of what you’re seeing.
