The issue is down to rich notifications
When this is turned off the mic option on an ansered echo show works and communicates

Solution for now is tuning off rich notifications. Some people have confirmed this workaround fixed the issue.

EDIT: I have tried and it fixed the issue for me

Please pass to dev team as I wish to use rich notifications

@Simbcfc1 @Andre_Toniolo I have just been emailed by Ring Support to say the problem has been fixed. I have therefore turned Rich Notifications back on and it still works fine.

Thank you for returning to update us on your experience, @SarahDiac! I’ve also completed these steps on my personal account and can too confirm that two way audio is working as intended on my Echo Show, with all event types, and with Rich Text Notifications enabled. :slight_smile:

Hi, I have the same issue, I have an echo show 5, a hardwired ring door bell. When the doorbell is pressed, my echo dots make an announcement, but the echo show 5 does nothing, no announcements. I can ask the echo show 5 to show the front door, and the doorbell shows the feed on the echo show 5. I have done a factory reset on the echo show 5, I have uninstalled the skill from the Alexa app, but nothing seems to fix it. I am in Australia.

I just setup an Echo Show 8 and Ring Video Doorbell. I’m having the same issue, cannot talk to someone in front of the Ring video doorbell through the Echo Show 8. I have verified all firmware is up to date with each device. That the mics are activated and even disabled the Rich Notifications someone else mentioned. None of that worked. If I talk through the Ring app, the audio is played through the doorbell. I’m looking for any other suggestions.
