Ring Doorbell Pro Issues

I have had my Ring doorbell for a couple of years and noticed some problems pop up:

  • Live view won’t load at all, but I get notifications via the Ring app when motion is detected.

  • I don’t have any “events” recorded since Friday. Potentially related is we had some absolutely horrible weather on Thursday night. Lightening strobing all night long and torrential rain.

  • When someone rings the doorbell, I notice a delay of a minute or two before I hear the chime

  • Wifi strength is good. Transformer voltage also shows good

  • I have deleted and reinstalled the app

  • Firmware appears to be up-to-date.

  • I tried rebooting the device from the Ring app. Nothing appears to be happening. Not sure if reboots don’t show or if it’s related to the issues above

  • I ordered the tool necessary to remove the security screw to try to locate the force restart button on the doorbell itself.

Any thoughts on this?

Hi @user48839. It’s hard to pinpoint what the particular issue could be. Does the Live View load sometimes or does it always time out? If the issue is intermittent, have you checked the wifi signal strength when the issue is happening? I’d still recommend performing a reset when you receive the tool you ordered. You can do this by holding down the setup button for 20 seconds. After that’s done, walk the Doorbell through a new setup in the Ring app using the steps under Set Up a Device.
