Ring Chime will not connect to network

I installed the door bell with no issues. Connected to the network first time and online.
The chime bell - that’s a different story. I tried it on both the extender- what the bell is connected to, and the router direct. All other devices in the house can connect to either
I did try to reset the router and all but that makes no difference.
The chime will eventually turn red for a period of time and go back to flashing blue.
What can I do to make this work?

If possible, try another mobile device for the setup process. You can also reset the Chime by holding its setup button for 20 seconds. Once complete, retry a setup to see if it will complete successfully. Please also ensure there is not a VPN enabled on your mobile device.

I have one mobile device at the moment - my cell pone. So that isn’t an option at this time. I did try resetting the chime but doesn’t appear to help. I did this the other day and again today to try once more. It will connect to the phone but not the network.
