Ring bridge can never connect
Hello Ring Neighbours, Ring Support, Im Joe currently based in Malaysia. I've purchased the Ring Bridge for the purpose of linking my Ring Smart Lights. I could never add the Ring Bridge and i've tried all the methods found within the following community link. [https://community.ring.com/t5/Smart-Lighting/Bridge-won-t-connect/td-p/2630](https://community.ring.com/t5/Smart-Lighting/Bridge-won-t-connect/td-p/2630) Following are what i've tried individually or combine. Also tried in different sequence. 1. Connect my smartphone or tablet device to 2.4 or 5ghz wifi network. 2. Fix IP address or DNS IP random address. 3. MAC address randomized or Phone Mac. 4. Renaming Wifi SSID. 5. Change to another Wifi Router. 6. Samsung Z Fold, Samsung Note 5, Note 8, iPad Pro, iPad 2. SONY z tablet 7. Insert Pin on the Ring Bridge for 10 or 20 seconds. Light turn Red and later blinks in blue color. 8. Locating Ring Blink just next to Router or Far apart didnt work either. 9. Disabling any security features or removing 3rd party apps in Android Smartphone or tablets. 10. WIFI channel between 1 to 10. Also tried 11 to 12. 20mhz, 40mhz or auto for wifi channel width. 11. Disable wifi direct. Turn on or off Locations, Mobile Data, Bluetooth, Airplane mode. 12. Reboot my devices, Router and Ring Bridge 13. Set device Wifi to Join Ring Bridge direclty the try add device via Ring App. 14. Clear cache or data of the Ring App. Reinstalling. 15. Tablet or Smartphone Device factory reset without installing other apps except for Ring app. 16. Ring Bridge blinking blue color 17. Ring Bridge blinks green color. 18. Factory Reset Wifi Router to only connect Ring Bridge 19. Disable any known Security settings or Mac address filter on Router. 20. Change password for Wifi. Also tried non characters password. 21. Reboot my smartphone or tablet with locations turn on. 22. With or Without VPN to US, Singapore, Malaysia. None of the above solves the problem. The Ring app will always say Connection Successful when join to Ring Bridge wifi and it will then subsequently fail to connect to my router wifi and the ring app loops back to prompt if the Ring Bridge blue light is blinking. Repeating the process never works as well. This product clearly fails to deliver out from the box and im very disappointed having invested so much into Ring products. Would appreciate your suggestions or help towards resolving this issue. Poor product support and yet Ring couldnt even bother to respond via email or facebook messenger. Talking to the Support over the phone took 3 hours and yet not resolving the issue :( The contact centre finally connects me with another person on the call to arrange for replacement. i was told i will have to return the device else it will charge me for the replacement device :( Hopefully the replacement does indeed resolves the problem. otherwise it is completely waste of time ..

Sorry to hear about this experience, @joe\_liew. At this time, the Ring Smart Lighting Bridge only ships to the US and Canada. We do not advise operating a device intended for a different region in another country. If you are using this device in the US, as intended, then you've certainly covered all the best troubleshooting steps for this to work. As you are currently working with support team on a solution, they will be happy to assist further if needed. Please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). We’re taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19, so this has resulted in longer than normal wait times. If you are outside of the US, please read our response to COVID-19 [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360041597471) to see how to contact support.

What a BS answer and you guys need to pull your head out the sand! I've had 2 prior devices that got bricked during an update (first bridge I had, then a Par38 bulb, the latter of which was pulling teeth to get a replacement and former I just said screw it and bought a new one), now YET AGAIN my 2nd bridge was doing an update for hours, never successfully pushed to the device, tried a soft reset, tried unplug and plug in after 2min, then finally hard-reset, full setup, kept failing setup just like the other two devices, tried all the same troubleshooting as this user, and finally got it to connect to a WPA (not WPA2) wifi network on 2.4ghz, app now showing updating with null% --this is a friggin' JOKE! Left it "updating" at null% for over an hour, TWICE, just to confirm it's a doorstop ![Screenshot_20220813-043028_Ring|425x499](upload://a0lH6vKzfBWYDY9KhhT0uhHd4MM.jpeg) You guys need to make a partion in your onboard memory to have a TRUE factory reset as this issue plagues not only the bridge and is ridiculous. Looks like I'll just be buying YET ANOTHER new bridge, smfh. Frankly about to just pull the plug completely on you people and setup all new outdoor lighting (4 lights), motion sensors, cameras, and alarm to stop this absolute insanity. 3am and having to troubleshoot and re-setup my cameras and alarm while still not having motion sensors and outdoor lighting is INFURIATING. Bout McFuckinHad it
