Removing the Security Screw

Hi all,

I have no idea how it happened but it looks like somebody avoided the sensor to try and remove the mounting screw. Instead of doing that, they’ve stripped the head so the Ring Screwdriver can’t get the amount of purchase needed to remove the screw manually.

Has this happened to anybody else, and if so, without damaging the doorbell, how did you remove it?

Because it’s located underneath the unit, drilling into the screw and using a removal kit is the last resort. Was hoping for a less butchered way of removing it.

Hi @WolfAtHeart79. I was able to find this Community post where other neighbors had a similar concern. There are responses to what others have tried and a solution for what to do if you cannot remove it.
