Protect Plus 1st gen Warranty Issue

My doorbell pro finally died. I have done all the troubleshooting. I have the project plus 1st gen. I was told my tech support I’m out of warranty. So I verified again via chat and they said the same thing but…the agent reason why was a failed renewal payment. At that time my card on file I use had an unauthorized activity fraud which I had to get a new one but I could not update any of my accounts for auto pay until I received my new card number. Should I be at fault for that and not qualify for the warranty? Any help/suggestions. Thanks
