I’ve just ordered a plug in adapter 2nd gen, for my doorbell 2 which is said to be compatible. When I lived at a different address the doorbell 2 was powered by my 24v AC transformer and resistor no problem, as the instructions said-Do not use DC! How come the Plug in adapter says it is DC but is compatible?
Hi @Madmart. The Ring Plug-In Adapter (2nd Generation) is the only DC-powered adapter compatible with Ring Doorbells. It was designed to work correctly with the Doorbells and cause no damage. We do not advise using third-party power adapters, as they may damage your device.
