Pixel 8 Pro not notification sounds

Since upgrading to the pixel 8 pro my app has stopped playing sounds on notifictaions. If i go into settings it says app provided sound but plays nothing, however if i try and change this to a pixel supplied sound nothing plays. It feels like the permissision to access sounds is missing. Any thoughts?

I had the same issue. Search for Apps in the settings, click on Apps, scroll down to Ring and clear storage and cache then go back to the app and reset your notifications. Fixed. Or at least it fixed mine.
