Doorbell and Camera motion sensors don’t work all that well. They are both light sensitive (even headlight reflections from considerable distance will set them off), and outside temperature changes seem to affect sensitivity/motion detection.
Perhaps camera’s set to “outside” could be using an algorithm to adjust sensitivity based on ambient temperature? Guess I don’t know why an IR sensor triggers of trivial light reflections, but…
