Notification settings on device and on chime

I have chosen a different notification sound for each my Ring devices within device settings but find that the chimes are not reflecting these changes. On further investigation, I see there are sound settings within each of my 3 chimes and they are not the same as those in the device settings. It appears that the chime setting is overriding the device settings. I’m a newbie to Ring - can anyone help me to work out what it is I’m missing?
