Motion alert when checking Live View

My wife and I have the Ring 2, which we have had for almost a year now. For the entire time that we’ve had it, we each get a motion alert on our phones whenever someone checks the live view. At first we just considered it a little quirk, but today I activated the feature which takes a screenshot every hour and, as a result, we both get a motion alert every hour on our phones. Now it’s just plain annoying, and misleasding.

So it seems that it sends an alert anytime the camera is engaged for any reason, even if it’s not from motion detection. What gives? Has anyone else had this issue? Is it by design, or perhaps a setting that I’m missing?

Hey @lionheart2243! This is an odd occurrence to hear of. I recommend removing and reinstalling the Ring app on both devices, as well as check for any linked device settings you may have enabled in the Ring app. If this concern persists, try a reset on your Video Doorbell by holding the setup button for 20 seconds.

Let us know if the above steps help to resolve your concerns.
