Does direct sunlight affect the camera? My Ring doorbell is recording 10 motions in the morning when there is no motion, but fails to recognize me when I walk to my car. Does the sun shining directly into the camera affect it?
Hey @Bulebagus1. Depending on the model of Doorbell that you have can depend on the type of motion detection it is. It sounds like you have of the battery operated doorbells, which uses PIR motion detection. This means that any sudden change in heat signature can set off the camera as it thinks it is motion of a person. If the sunlight is hitting the Doorbell and causing false motion detection, I recommend getting a corner or wedge kit to see if you can have the Doorbell’s sensor face more away from the sun to see if this helps with motion detection.
