Int. Ring Camera Not Detecting Burglars
troubleshooting
wireless-security-cameras
Hello, our home was burglarized last Friday Nov 3. Thieves went upstairs to the 2nd floor and ransacked the bedrooms. Why weren't these people detected by the foyer ring camera? The camera last recorded my roommate leaving at 4:22 pm then it went blank until 8 pm when LAPD entered the home.

Hi @MotoXRob. Unfortunately, I am not able to tell you why your Camera missed detecting these people, but I can offer you troubleshooting steps to help improve your Cameras motion detection. Try the following steps: - Make sure your [Motion Zones](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/210243483-Using-Camera-Motion-Zones) are set correctly and cover the area you want. - Increase your Motion Sensitivity to max. - Make sure there is nothing in front of the Camera that could effect its motion detection, like glass or plants. Some neighbors try to keep the Camera hidden by using certain objects, and this could effect its motion detection negatively. - [Reboot your Camera using the Ring app](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/7438395032980-Rebooting-your-Video-Doorbell-or-Security-Camera). If you have tried these steps and notice it is still missing motion events, reach out to our support team for further assistance. Give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here.](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036196372-Contact-Us)
