Fully Charged Battery not working in devices

My ring battery shows fully charged - green light - but does not work in doorbell or wireless security floodlight. Is the battery dead? If so why does it show charged? If it’s not dead (but sleeping!) how do I wake it? Both devices work fine with other batteries. Grateful for any thoughts before I splash out on another battery. John
