Hi,
I would like to request (politely demand) the following features be immediately implemented in the next update, please (fr, these should already be a thing – super easy code to write people):
*A MODE AFFECTS THE ENTIRE SYSTEM WHILE A ZONE SEGMENTS THE SYSTEM TO ALLOW FOR GREATER FLEXIBILITY AND MORE USE CASES
-
ZONES*
Create a “Zones” feature under “Modes” that allows users to arm/disarm separate groupings of sensors so a family can be hanging out in one area of a home and while still having another areas’ sensors fully armed. For example, this feature would be extremely useful to disarm a garage and workshop while working on a project that takes you in and out of a large garage with multiple entrances, exits, windows, etc. while remaining assured that the entire house is still armed while you’re busy working outside. It could also be useful for opening up a back door/garden/sunroom/patio area during a BBQ when everyone is socializing at the rear of a home while leaving the front empty portion of the house armed. -
CUSTOM MODES*
Create customizable Modes besides Disarm/Home/Away that allow users more flexibility. Of course keep the main three on the keypad by default but allow for other custom modes to be created through the app. For instance, Home and Armed (No Motion Sensors) vs Home and Armed (Motion Sensors) – this could allow for easier toggling of needed functionality without having to Disarm the alarm, toggle the individual sensors, and then re-arm the alarm which can be loud and disruptive and time intensive. For instance, when going to bed at night with the alarm already armed but wanting to quickly turn on motion sensors throughout the house without waking a partner with loud noise from the base station or keypad whose volume you may want to keep up to alert of any potential state changes.
Another example is the normal “Away and Armed Mode” vs “Away (Front Door Only)” which could allow users a delay to enter their code while entering or exiting one specific chosen portal, while any other contact sensors would still trigger the alarm immediately. This could be useful when paired with quick exit for use cases like taking the dog out for a quick walk or running to the mailbox. There is currently no Quick Re-Entry feature to accompany the Quick Exit feature. This would eliminate the need to use one’s phone to toggle from Armed to Disarmed when re-entering with full hands, a bunch of grocery bags, a dog pulling on a leash, etc. Allowing for a single door to have an entry/exit delay while all other sensors are set to immediately trigger a siren increases both safety and convenience. -
SUMMER MODE (I.e., SEASONAL MODES)
Either of the previous two features of zones or custom modes could also be extremely useful when leveraged for setting a seasonal functionality. .E.g., Summer Vs. Winter (I.e., window contact sensors all automatically bypassed while all doors and/or motion sensors remain active.) -
SENSOR GROUPING
For that matter, a feature that allows the easy and immediate toggling of all like-type sensors would be extremely useful. For example: All motion sensors on/off. All window contact sensors armed/bypassed. Etc. (Distinct from Zones, which are groups of different types of sensors bound by physical regions.) -
CUSTOM NOTIFICATIONS TONES ON PHONES
Allowing users to choose the notification sound that their phone uses to notify them of state changes to individual sensors would allow users to distinguish possibly urgent notifications from quotidian ones. Right now my phone plays the same tone to tell me I have a voicemail or weather update as it does to tell me my front door or a window has been opened. One of these seems possibly more urgent. So allowing distinct tones seems rather important to the idea of an alarm system. A user could also use this to distinguish between different zones of the house to know immediately where an intruder has potentially entered without even checking their screen. This would allow for added safety by allowing users to avoid potentially unsafe areas of their home in the event of a home invasion.
Please implement these features and their added functionalities NOW!
