Echo Show 8 mic not working

Hi There, I have installed the Ring doorbell 2nd gen and connected it with my Echo show 8. If I access the doorbell from the echo show manually (live view) the mic mic works perfect and i can talk to the person at the door. However, when someone rings the doorbell the feed automatically comes up on the echo show but I cannot speak to them. The mic doesn't work (I've pressed the mic button on the screen etc). Has anyone encountered this problem? If I say alexa talk to the front door the feed opens and the mic works but its only when someone rings the doorbell and the feed appears it doesn't work. Is it a bug I wonder?

Exactly the same issue here. Echo show 5 just arrived from Amazon, fully connected to Ring doorbell (2nd gen) video works, but pressing the unmute for mic, will not enable two-way conversation. Checked everything @Marley_Ring mentioned, no luck. Yet, fully working via the ring app on my iPhone. Definitely an issue with the combination of Echo Show 5 and the Ring skill. @Marley_Ring you can see so many people have the same issue, it clearly needs solving. Can you please ask the dev team at Ring to look into this? It’s easily reproducible and hence should be easy to troubleshoot and fix. Thank you in advance.

I think I'll just return my Echo Show for a refund. So many people and no fix available.

I will be returning my Amazon echo show. I bought mine today and I encountered the same problem. I found this thread and apparently this issue is happening to many people worldwide what a shame that this cannot be fixed. I will now go and by a Google home and see if that is any better

Exact same issue here. Wired ring doorbell Video is working on Show 5, 2 way audio is not. The helpful neighborhood suggestions are not helping. Pls debug.

I don’t know in what world people live that they answer their doorbell from a phone instead than from a device that is near the actual switch you press to open the door, but it’s definitely not mine. I’ve been having this issue with echos for more than 2 months now and it’s so critical to the way I use the product that in my opinion it should have been fixed in a matter of days, if not a couple of weeks max. If people at Ring aren’t aware of this by now, they live under a rock. It should be TOP priority. I literally don’t have a doorbell anymore and rest assured that the day I replace this bug-ridden device my next one is definitely not gonna be another Ring. The app crashes often, the doorbell wouldn’t display live view when asked with my netgear orbi and I had to purchase a chime pro (that btw doesn’t boost signal, if anything it makes it worse than what I had before) just to have a working live view. And now this, more than 2 months without any two-way talk. Seriously, who is working on the software? Who does quality control? I’m really starting to get frustrated here, I paid for a device that doesn’t even do the most basic things well. But by all means, keep introducing new features and products with minor upgrades while not even having the basics figured out at all. All I’m asking is a working audio and video feed, is that too much to ask in 2021 from the biggest company in this market?
