August lock integration
I have my 3rd gen August pro unofficially connected as a manual zwave lock if anyone is trying to connect yours. It works sometimes, usually it says it’s unlocked when it’s locked and then it won’t work for a while. Im curious if there are plans for official August lock integration?

The problem here is this would take both Ring and August to collaborate together. Seems like the announcement was just to drum up some PR rather than actually do anything. Ironically, this would probably be easier to integrate than a z-wave approach given the fact that August Ring would need a simple webhook call rather than z-wave communication. August already have LOTS of integrations with others using this approach but Ring seems to have no api ( at least public ) that August could invoke. Until that API is exposed don't hold your breathe on anything happening here. We can see all this evidence in the lack of integrations with IFTTT/Alexa/etc - ironic that the Ring that is supposed to have one of the biggest eco-systems actually doesn't have a API. What can you do?

Cool! How on earth did you make it work? I’ve tried several times to add it manually and can’t figure it out. It’s zero user friendly and I can’t find help anywhere. Help.

TNo official integration yet, but you can add the lock manually by manually adding a zwave device and entering its code. That said, I strongly advise against doing so because it will eat your batteries alive... at least the 3rd gen because that device is designed to communicate via the august wifi bridge, which the wifi bridge communicates to the lock via bluetooth. The lock is designed this way specifically for the battery life

Really want this integration as well. Might have to switch security systems soon otherwise.
