Amazon Sidewalk will cause Ring customers to leave Ring

After spending thousands of $ to secure our home and network, I just heard that Amazon intends to allow access to OUR WIFI network without our permission. It is concerning in the extreme that Amazon is not requiring Ring system owners to OPT IN to Sidewalk, but rather that Ring system owners need to OPT OUT. We have an extensive Ring security system and a dozen Ring cameras; but with all due respect, we aren't willing for Amazon or Ring to treat OUR system as a component of your strategy for a comprehensive public survaillence network. I hope Amazon will reconsider the downsides of Sidewalk. I suspect that most of your customer base would be as opposed to Sidewalk as we are.

Making it "opt-Out" vs "Opt-In" is not respecting the customer. I did not have to say that - you know that... don't you?

I will be removing all Amazon Ring related devices from my home.I followed the instructions provided to opt out, and guess what? It's not there. I can't opt out of this. This is a disgusting overstep.

You're not seeing the Amazon Sidewalk settings section in the Control Center section of the app or web interface?

I don’t have the slider to opt out for my devices. Just like the previous post we have many ring devices which do show up as enabled for sidewalk but no way to opt out. I have the most updated iOS on phone and I tried logging in from my laptop too and still don’t see that option. Pretty disappointed to say the least

If you have an older IPhone, you do not have an iOS high enough to see the option. We all have iPhones that will not upgrade to iOS 14, which is a requirement in the instructions for opting out. Lower iOS...no opt out option😡😡😡

So glad that I saw this thread. Ring might have sent out a message about it, but I don't remember reading the announcement. It is definitely wrong for Ring to assume we want other people access to use our network without our explicit permission. Most things, especially access to our private network, should be an opt-in, not assume-in.

Same for me!! No opt out slider button for sidewalk!! Makes me think this is purposely done hoping we’ll get frustrated and give up. Not going to happen!! I hear class action lawsuits are effective..

My ring devices are going *INTO THE TRASH*. This mesh network function is absolutely intolerable.
