2nd Gen Chime weirdness

I have just bought the doorbell 3 with new chime, and the chime is really problematic.

The chime connects to the network fine when set up as a new device. At random intervals it starts flashing red and green, but is still connected to the network with a clean bill of health according to the app.

It has now stayed Blue for a nearly a day, but in the last few minutes began flashing red and green and then went solid red, no flashing, it is still connected to the network with a clean bill of health according to the app too, testing the sound from the app makes it chime.

In both the flashing red and green and the solid red states, the chime doesn’t ring when the doorbell is pressed (but it remains connected to the network and app)

This was an upgrade from the doorbell 1 and chime 1, but is feeling more like a downgrade, please help!

@Chelsea_Ring I think I might have found the problem and solution to this:

My router has a tri-band smart connect which dynamically switches connected devices between the two 5g and single 2.4g WiFi radios. I think the problem is that the chime fails to connect properly when the router tries to switch it around the different radios. This isn’t uncommon, my 2nd gen amazon echo and one or two older devices have the same problem. The fix I use is to have a permanent guest network limited to 2.4g only. Linking the ring chime to that network only has now worked for 24 hours without problems - the first time it’s lasted that long without showing red/green or red lights so far. Ironically, the ring chime 1 that I replaced NEVER had a problem.
