Why do lights have to be in a group? And motion detection question.

Why do lights have to be in a group? Groups should not be a requirement. And why does there need to be two or more lights in a group in order for the lights to turn on when linked to a camera? You should be able to link only one light to one camera if you want. And let us share light control with other users already. This doesn’t make any sense. Come on Ring, please fix your software.

Hi @TheRatPatrol. With how our [Linked Devices](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035485411--Linked-Devices-Automatically-Record-on-Cameras-when-Alarm-is-Triggered) feature works, you can only link to a Smart Lighting group rather than an individual device, and you need at least two devices to create a Smart Lighting group. As we value our neighbors' feedback, we've created a [Feature Request](https://community.ring.com/t5/Feature-Request-Board/idb-p/Feature_Request_Board) board. Feel free to add this and any future feature requests there. This will help us to organize and share your requests with our teams here, as well as allow other neighbors to comment and add interest, all in one place. Feel free to link that post you make in the Feature Request board here so other neighbors that come to this thread can easily find your feature! :)
