Request for Ability to Disable Motion Detection (NOT Alerts) by Group?
motion-settings

I am new to the Ring Smart Lighting world and imagine I'm probably just not understanding how all of the fabulous features work together... In a new home with newly-installed Ring Smart Lighting. In my "Front" group, I have a battery step light, two wired floodlights, and six path lights. Last night, my new neighbor messaged me, **"Are your lights on a motion detector? They're freaking me out because they keep flicking on and off!"** Last night was particularly windy and the flag on the front of my house was triggering motion on one or more of my lights and probably had the **ENTIRE GROUP OF LIGHTS** going on and off **ALL NIGHT**.I know I need to play with motion sensitivity and might even need to disable motion detection for the wired floodlight nearest the flag. There's also a path light relatively close to that flag that might also have to have motion detection adjusted or disabled. However, this incident generated the following question/request:Is there or can we get a "panic button" for disabling motion detection on groups? There seems to be a nice, Motion Alerts "panic button" to disable the alerts en masse, but it would be **GREAT** to be able to also disable motion detection for all devices within a group, with the simple push of a button. Right now, to disable motion detection, you have to go to the *Group*: SETTINGS: Motion Settings (Group Motion Settings menu) and then select each device individually. That's a lot of work when you have nine lights in one group, like I do.There are **SO** many settings/options that it often takes a good bit of time to setup and test to get things right. In this instance, I just wanted to shut motion detection down until I could figure it out later and there wasn't a really quick/easy way to do it. Having a "Motion Detection Panic Button" to disable all motion detection at the group level would be a **GREAT** feature. It would allow you to disable motion detection, by group, without losing the ability to control those groups via the app or Alexa, in the meantime. Thanks, in advance!

Hi @RonH2K. This Help Center article [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360024056432-Setting-Up-and-Controlling-Your-Groups-in-the-Ring-App) has a great video that highlights some of the features in a Light Group. I hope this helps.

I'm sorry, @Tom_Ring ... did you even read my post? That video addressed nothing I posted about... except maybe that there are a lot of options. I get that.Is there somewhere I can simply put in a feature request/enhancement to have a button to turn OFF motion detection for an entire group, without having to go in and do it at the per-device level? Thanks!

Hey @RonH2K. I did read your post. I hoped the Help Center article that showcases some of the capabilities of the Ring Smart Lighting Groups would be helpful. If you'd like to share a feature request, the best spot for that would be our [Feature Request board](https://community.ring.com/c/products/feature-request-board/24). Feel free to add this and any future feature requests there. Thanks, neighbor!
