Is a Ring bridge required for battery operated spotlights
wireless-security-cameras
I've been trying to resolve why my three spotlight battery operated ring lights (no cameras but do have motion detectors) continue to utilize the batteries for about 3 days and then stop. Ring Support told me tonight I had to have a bridge in order for the battery spotlights to work. I don't understand that. They are battery operated and work when batteries are put in but don't last a week. Can someone tell me if a bridge is required and if so, why? I didn't think these lights were "smart" lights. Thank you. Terri

Glad you asked, @TornadoT! The [Ring Smart Lighting Bridge](https://ring.com/products/smart-lighting-bridge) is necessary in order to setup and operate your Smart Lighting devices in the Ring app. It enables smart security features and connects your Ring smart lights with other compatible devices. I hope this helps! :)
