Ring doorbell making loud chime noise

I have a wired ring doorbell and every time the door closes, about ten seconds later the doorbell device will click, two small red lights will appear underneath the button, and then a very loud chime sort of sound will play (which also lasts about ten seconds). Any idea of how to turn this off (or at least turn it down)? It started randomly a few weeks ago and it's so loud you can hear it halfway down the street. It also happens literally every time the door shuts, no matter how long it has been open for. I have tried turning off all the alerts and motion detection options on my app and have tried rebooting the device to see if it makes a difference but nothing has worked.
