Hi @user29132. If the motion detection for your Doorbell is not working correctly during the night, try the following steps: * [Optimize your Motion Settings](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/210243483-Utilizing-Motion-Zones-with-your-Ring-Devices) for your Doorbell. One example of this would be increasing the Motion Sensitivity of your Doorbell. If your Doorbell is battery operated, you also want to look into its [Motion Frequency ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003477106-Understanding-and-Optimizing-Motion-Detection-with-Motion-Frequency)and set it to Frequent, which could drain the battery quicker but helps prevent missing motion events. * [Reboot your Doorbell using the Ring app](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/7438395032980-How-to-Reboot-your-Ring-Doorbell-or-Security-Camera-from-the-Ring-App-). * If you have [Smart Alerts](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032947972-Refining-Your-Motion-Alert-Notifications-for-People-and-Other-Motions-) enabled, disable them to see if it makes a difference, or vice versa. * Verify your Doorbell's signal strength, also known as [RSSI, is at a good level](https://community.ring.com/t/how-it-works-your-ring-device-rssi-good-vs-poor/229). You also want to test the motion detection yourself during the night to see if it picks you up, as it could be possible that the person did not walk within the range of your Doorbell's motion detection. I hope this helps.
