Ring doorbell 2 not working #583
device-settings

I just charged up my ring doorbell 2 battery, ran setup and everything was working. Then it said it was busy getting a software update. After the software update, the doorbell no longer works. The battery is 100% charged, the setup/reset button does nothing. The doorbell is probably over a year old and out of warranty. Is Ring replacing these doorbells that their software update ruined? I see many reports of people having the same problem

Hi @djmrek. It's possible you may just need to reset the Doorbell as the firmware update may not have properly installed. If you haven't already, please try fully resetting the Doorbell by holding down the setup button for at least 20 seconds straight. After this reset is done, go ahead and attempt to set the Doorbell up in the Ring App again. Note that it may do the firmware update once more if it didn't take properly the first time. If this doesn't work, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). Feel free to let us know how this goes and what solution works for you. :)

The reset button isn't working. I've held it down for 20 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 seconds, nothing. I bought a new overpriced $30 battery, charged it to 100% and still nothing. I'm trying to reach the support team now, it's an estimated 40 minute wait time, wow

After a 30 minute wait and 30 more minutes talking to customer service, the conclusion is my doorbell is out of warranty. They are going to send me a 35% off coupon to buy a new one off their website. Am I satisfied my $100 doorbell lasted 1.5 years and then died, no.
