Question about Ring Doorbell Wired Wiring
Today I installed a new transformer and two ring doorbell wired for a neighbor's relative. I upgraded their transformer to 24V 40vA. I then went in their chime box to install the jumper wires between Front and Trans and Rear and Trans. These three wires did not have a screw down terminal and instead had a spring loaded clip they go in. The jumper wire has spade connecters on either end so this did not work for this setup. Is the jumper really needed? It seems like there might be a resistor embedded in the middle of it or something under heat shrink? I ended up just taking the trans, rear, and front wires out of their clips and splicing them all together in the chime box. Everything seemed to be working in the end so am I good? Why is the jumper cable even needed then? Just want to make sure we're not going to burn something out. Thanks for any help anyone can give.
