Does the Ring Chime not work with SmartConnect or Wi-Fi 7?
troubleshooting

Just purchased a Ring Chime and it's not finding my network at all. It keeps saying it needs to be 2.4 GHz, so I created an "IoT" network on my router that doesn't have Wi-Fi 7 turned on and doesn't have 5 GHz enabled. Yet it still can't find the network on the device.  I read about some other workarounds like not using the app's default "Setup" and going through the Chime setup in the camera itself. Still can't find anything.  However the Echo Show I bought found my network with no problem.  Restarted the router, backed up my router settings, set up my router from scratch with Wi-Fi 7 for my other devices and it still can't find it. Restored my previous settings and 100% of my devices reconnected to my router, yet the Chime still won't find it.  I thought it was a defective one, exchanged the Chime for a brand new one and still nothing on this second unit. My hunch now is that it just doesn't like my Wi-Fi router or SmartConnect or something I've set up.

Hi @user_da914d. Yes, WiFi6 and WiFi7 can cause issues with Ring devices. I'd recommend contacting our support team, as this question may need to be escalated since it deals with advanced network settings. You can reach out at one of the numbers here, or @Ring on Facebook, X, or Instagram.
